Hiking Payne Gulch Trailhead

Are you in for a treat! We’ve outlines some info and fun facts for your upcoming hike up Payne Gulch.

With a moderate hiking path and ending elevaton shy of 10,000 feet, this trailhead spans 9.5 miles one way. Summer to Fall is the best time to hike this beauty. You’ll want to plug in Windy Peak, Shawnee into the USGS Map as a guide of this trail.

This trail provides access into the northeast portion of the Lost Creek Wilderness Area. A highlight of the hike is a beautiful area called Craig Meadows.
